2019 Wine & Art Auction raises $97,000 to fight Type 1 Diabetes

They came, they saw, they bid!

On Saturday 9th of November, guests gathered at the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral to join forces in raising funds for Dr Martin de Bock’s research into childhood type 1 diabetes. A balmy summer evening contributed to the happy and up-beat atmosphere which saw $97,000 raised during the three-part auction led by fabulous auctioneer team Mark and Tim McGoldrick. Guests enthusiastically bid on fine art, collectible wines, fun experiences and a silent auction and raffle with something on offer for everyone.

We can’t thank our generous supporters enough for their investment into this important research and the work of the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation. Huge credit also goes to the artists, wineries and other individuals and businesses who so kindly donated to the event, including our event partners Main Divide, Black Estate, Ataahua, Greystone and Pegasus Bay for treating all of our guests to a taste of the finest the Waipara wine region has to offer.
