This week is National Volunteer Week in New Zealand. It aims to honour the collective energies and mana of volunteers in Aotearoa.
They grow our people, open minds, open hearts and create joy.
As an organisation, the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation would not be here today without the ongoing help of our volunteers over the last 60 years.
We gratefully acknowledge the time given by our board of directors whose current and past members have given us strategy, vision and direction.
Our events programme, spear headed by the annual Wine and Art auction now in its 27th year, has grown and expanded thanks to the invaluable guidance and engagement of our committees and helpers, who spend many, many hours perfecting these wonderful occasions to celebrate the impact that medical research has on our community, as well as raise funds for important projects that serve the health and well-being of Cantabrians.
Lastly, we thank the research experts who lend their minds and collective experience to our Scientific Assessment Committee. Because of their commitment, we are able to ensure that research grants awarded meet the strictest criteria of excellence, allowing us to widen our impact and truly make a difference.
To you, as well as all our other helpers, ambassadors, and loyal supporters:
Thank you. We see your commitment and value it greatly.
