We’re delighted to hear of one of our funded researcher’s recent success in the latest HRC (Government) grant funding round. Dr Khoon Lim from the University of Otago, Christchurch, received $730,000 for his project “Smart delivery of growth factors for treating osteonecrosis of the femoral head“.
These grants are highly sought after, and represent a true measure of career achievement, in particular for emerging researchers. Before this however, came his $97,355 Major Project Grant from the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation. His project’s aim was to investigate “Engineering Cartilage Constructs using 3D Bioassembly Approach”.
Dr Lim says of the recent award that it “..wouldn’t be possible without CMRF’s support to do the preliminary experiments and bridging my salary funding.” We wish him all the best with his upcoming research work.
